GRL -author- Zahra Owens

Zahra Owens' Wide Open Spaces

1. The list of events is amazing. What are you looking forward to the most?
I have no idea. There's so much going on and I want to be a part of it all!

2. Where will you be traveling from and who will you be bringing with you?
I'll be traveling alone from Belgium, which means it will take me 18 hours to get there, not counting the time I need to be at the airport in advance of my flight.

3. If you could ask an attendee from last year one question to help prepare you for GRL what would it be?
How do I know when I'll have time to sleep? (I asked Damon Suede who told me he didn't sleep for the first 36 hours)

4. This will be my first ever, public appearance and I'm nervous as hell. Is this your very first public appearance or have you attended other event? If you've attended other events, what were they like? Were you nervous the first time?
I read at the Rainbow Book Fair last year and loved it. I don't get terribly nervous. Ever since I was a child I loved being on stage.

5. I am very quiet when I meet new people (Oh shut up Joel I hear you snickering from here) Are you outgoing? More reserved?
I have a hard time walking up to people and introducing myself, but if someone else does the introductions, I may be the life of the party. It depends on the vibe in the group.

6. I admit, I'm going to be like a crazy stalker fan of Rick R. Reed. Who are you looking forward most to meeting?
Got it in one. There are a few others too, but I've met a lot of my writing idols already. Rick is definitely on my list, though.

7. No way in hell could I stand up and do a reading? I'd be spitting, sputtering, and turning 50 shades of RED. Did you sign up to do an author reading?
No, I didn't. I was too late to get a reading, but if someone dies of nerves before they get up there, I'll gladly fill in!

8. What do you think readers and other authors will be most surprised by when they meet you?
That I'm a blue-eyed blonde and not something more exotic like my first name suggests. I know one particular middle-aged man was very disappointed when he met me at the Rainbow Book Fair!

9. I hear the boys of our genre put on a hell of a party! Do you plan to attend the Cowboy party Thursday night?
Wild horses couldn't drag me away from that!

10. Go ahead you can be honest with me. You want to know what is under Damon Suede's Kilt don't you?
He will totally deny this, but I know what's underneath that kilt. And I have proof in the form of his dedication in my paperback copy of Hot Heads. *wiggles eyebrows*

Description:
When a volcano erupts in Iceland and leaves globetrotting headhunter Jez Robinson stranded in Barcelona, he isn’t sure what to do. He has a hard time sitting still, so deciding to make the best of his situation, he pays a visit to his old friend Nick Stone, a retired porn star he shares a history with. Only the visit doesn’t go anything like Jez expected.

First Nick introduces Jamie, his much younger lover, a man so painfully shy he can’t even bring himself to talk to strangers. The love he and Nick share is plain to Jez, but also puzzling, because Nick was never the monogamous type. Then Nick tells Jez he’s dying and wants Jez to look after Jamie.

In his whole life, Jez has never committed to so much as a house plant, so at first he refuses. But Nick and Jamie are insistent, and soon Jamie worms his way into Jez’s graces and his bed, determined to do the convincing Jez’s heart needs.
